Daily Checklist

One effective method I use in my coaching practice is the Daily Checklist pioneered by renowned executive coach Marshall Goldsmith. He outlines the use of the Daily Checklist in his book Triggers (which I highly recommend you read). The daily checklist helps us enhance our self-awareness and focus on the few action items which help us be the person or leader we want to be.

Development Planning Worksheet

Career and professional development require a lot of reflection, decisions, and planning. A structured approach to this process is very helpful. I have developed an approach and methodology during my many years of coaching executives and leaders. This approach is based on an individual’s career journey that is needed to achieve those goals. This career and development plan worksheet is designed to provide an individual with the steps and processes needed to achieve their life plan. It should be used in conjunction with a coaching discussion or a discussion with your manager for maximum benefit.

One-on-One Worksheet

This is a form that I have been using for quite some time. I came up with the idea many years ago when I was struggling to align all the resources with the priorities of the business. Not only is this is a great way to obtain alignment but it will also help improve the effectiveness of one-on-one meetings.

The team member is responsible for maintaining the content of the worksheet and making sure it details all the things they are working on. They should also use the worksheet to document the discussion topics that are important to them. I wrote an article on how to use this form. Click on the link below to read it.

Self-Promotion Worksheet

The self-promotion planning worksheet is designed to provide you with a template to organize your thoughts prior to sitting down with senior executives to network and have a career discussion. In this form, you can list your accomplishments, your career ambitions, think through some of the questions you would like to ask, identify answers to some questions they might ask, and help organize all of this into a compelling story. You should use this in conjunction with a coaching discussion for maximum benefit.

What Got You Here Checklist

I created this checklist to be used in conjunction with Marshall Goldsmith’s best selling book “What Got You Here Won’t Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful”. In his book, Marshall points out twenty workplace habits that we need to change. This checklist is a good way to track the ones that resonate with you while you read. You can then use this during your coaching session to determine if there are any behaviors that you should consider changing.

Zoom Backgrounds

Remote working during the COVID-19 pandemic has become a way of life. Most of us are working from our home office and we connect to our teams using Zoom. Some of you are aware that I have enjoyed landscape photography for a number of years. To make working remotely more fun and to help people through these difficult times, I have decided to make available 12 of my favorite landscape photographs.
